Population

The population of the Municipality amounts to  89 062 people (as per 15.06.2012), where 49 % is the percentage of males and 51 % of females. Around 20 % of the population live in villages. The Municipality of Vratsa is the biggest settlement in the district and it also holds a share of 42 % of the total number of population – 210 321 people. Around 30 % of it live in Vratsa.  As per the population number index, Vratsa holds the first place both in the district and in the Northwestern-planning region, and 16^th palce countrywide. The population of the municipality amounts to 1 % of the total population of the country, and the one of Vratsa district – to 3%.
